How do I put up my pictures in your photo gallery?
Use the navigation link "Photo Albums" to share your family/personal and other photos. In the Photo Gallery you'll see existing photo albums.
There are two specific ones for member uploads. One is called PUBLIC PHOTO UPLOADS and the other is MEMBER PHOTO UPLOADS. Please submit photos into ONLY these two albums unless you already have a photo album on the site. When I see that you have submitted photos (it would help if you e-mail or PM me to let me know you did) I'll create a photo album in your username and move your photos to that album. From there, you are free to post more photos in your album.
The photo gallery is open for all users of the site to post their favorite pics, pics of family and friends, etc.. Unfortunately, the current version of PhP-Fusion, which is what this site runs on, doesn't come with a very robust photo gallery system. Hopefully later versions will improve on the features. So for now, users can't create photo albums on their own and photo albums aren't "owned" by individual users. What this means is, I have to create an album for you so you can upload to it. Every user currently has the capability to post pics in any album too. Please read the guidelines posted in the photo gallery before posting.
NOTE: Please resize your photos so that they are no wider than 800 pixels. That way the site page won't "stretch" out left or right so far that the whole display looks messed up.
I don't see many photo albums, or don't see all the albums. Why?
Some photo albums are public albums where anyone can see them. Others are for members so you have to be a registered member of the site and logged in before you can see them. Yet others, if any, are set for higher levels that I've set up on the site.
The big reason for this is I don't like the idea of every photo being available for display on the web, particularly family photos that are meant for sharing among us or family and relatives. I don't want Boris in Bumf*** Egypt to see them. Nothing necessarily bad about pics being open for world view, I just don't want it all out there. If someone wants to see them, he/she should be courteous enough to register on the site. Nothing hard about that.
I think most members like the concept too. By sharing their favorite photos on the site, they're not committing to having those photos put up for everyone and their mother to see.
